Casa Nay is an original villa from the 1850s built by the architect Casanova; over the years it has been affected by different building interventions. In 1932 Dell’Olio family decided to do an important refurbishment of the entire complex by the engigneer D’Amico and Nador. During those years the garden of the villa had been transformed into a park for the owners of the house.

The project realized by MOSAE concerns the ground floor located at the level of the lower garden, the cellars of the villa. It’s been decided to keep and to consolidate the existing structure, characterized by splendid pavilion vaults completely made of bricks. The original floor has been maintained, and when it has been necessary to add new elements it has been completely done with maximum Integration and respect of the contest using natural materials such as wood and cork.
All the new elements inserted in the “box” have been made with completely removable technology, respecting the original materials and structures. The lighting system, as all the intervention, has been proposed to stand out the beauty of the spaces and the structures, using light elements but highly contemporary.
